Out of the blue (white?) came a last minute great opportunity to play in a week or so in the Crownest Pass in Southern Alberta, a great little venue I heard about through some house concert hosts called Blackbird Cafe (the venue is called Blackbird Cafe, not the house concert hosts). Apparently it's (the venue) is in an old church, can't wait for the acoustics! (And, the concert is on a Sunday, so, how appropriate).
(I am aware that as a person who majored in English for a while that that the above sentence coulda been written more betterly, but I am lazy and plus and in additionally-- I didn't graduate.)

That's James Murdoch and Nathan Carrol as Lindsey Buckingham, Amber Bissonette as Stevie Nicks, Chris Budnarchuk as Mick Fleetwood, Scott Gallant (also of the Faunts) as John Mc Vie, and me, (Agent AV) as Christine Mc Vie (vocals and keys), with additional keyboards by Mr. David Aide.

But we have started rehearsing-- I was already a big fan of this album but now I am even more, now that I am intimately learning all the parts. Killer band. An album full of hits!

So, first I will be heading by plane to Olympic fevered Vancouver to play a show at the Railway Club on January 17, from where I will then make my way across the mountains and then the prairies, by car, with my bassist James Forrest (a.k.a. Agent Many Trees), his RELIABLE (cross your fingers) vehicle, his upright bass, my keyboard, CDs, a small sound system, and a couple of changes of clothes-- all the way to Toronto and perhaps Ottawa-- in the balmy month of -- February.
This idea seemed really great when we were blessed with dry roads and unbelievably nice weather for the Alberta release tour in early November.
Now that it is very dark and cold outside my house and it is very much Winter I am a little less confident about the whole idea, but, if Laura Ingalls Wilder could survive prairie winter WITHOUT a car then I can WITH, I say!
And hence the title of our trip: the Little House Concert on the Prairies Tour. I know, it's def not the hippest title and I don't think Laura had to worry much about an upright bass freezing, but it aptly describes exactly what we'll be doing for the most part-- most of the shows are indeed house concerts, booked in the last few weeks by yours truly.
Having said that, miraculously there were also some actual venues not booked in Feb yet who have agreed to have us play a concert, so you will see some of the listed here, and hopefully a few more will be added in the next week or so.
Any suggestions for house concerts along the way, here's what we're still looking for:
Feb 1 and 2: somewhere between Saskatoon and Brandon
Feb 7: somewhere in Michigan, somewhat en route b/w Sault Ste Marie and Grand Rapids
Feb 8: somewhere between Michigan and Toronto
Feb 10 - 13: places between or including Guelph/Hamilton and Ottawa
